Reuters AlertNet - UN inspector: No aerial evidence of new Iraqi arms
UNITED NATIONS, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The chief U.N. arms inspector said on Tuesday he had no evidence from aerial photos that Iraq was attempting to rebuild its weapons of mass destruction but no one could be sure until his teams were back on the ground.
Hans Blix, executive chairman of the U.N. Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission, also told reporters he would hold no discussions with Iraq on anything but practical arrangements for how the inspectors would operate.
Speaking after a U.N. Security Council meeting on his latest report, Blix told reporters that satellite photos showed Iraq had carried out rebuilding at sites that may have been bombed by American and British planes in December 1998.
"But this is not the same as saying there are weapons of mass destruction," Blix said. "If I had solid evidence that Iraq retained weapons of mass destruction or were constructing such weapons I would take it to the Security Council."
More evidence that Bush and Blair lied to us to get our sons and daughters killed in Iraq.
Also, isn't this pretty much what Ritter said that's getting him called a traitor all over the rightwingnut side of the web?
