This isn't political, much. It's just a beautiful article. I highly recommend taking the time to read it. It's about the "distorted view of science that prevails in our culture." Which, I guess, is rather political these days, given the horrible treatment of legitimate science at the hands of the Bushies and the fundamentalists.
We're fighting a fairly serious war here, and the Presidency is just one battle. The fundies have taken to the grass roots. All it takes is a majority on a school board, and they're starting to get that in a lot of places. So start becoming aware of what's going on locally.
Fighting every little encroachment may seem silly, but these really are the sort of people who will take a mile if you give an inch. Don't let them have any inroads into our schools or our government. These people think the Taliban is a bit liberal. They want to bring back the Old Testament, in all its glory. All of it. They also believe "that it is the moral obligation of Christians to recapture every institution for Jesus Christ."
Head on over here and take a gander at some of the beliefs these people hold. Then realise that the brothers who run Diebold and ES&S, two of the three companies that control our elections, are Reconstructionists. As is Ashcroft.
I'll be voting for anyone but Bush, I can tell you that. Absentee ballot. Just in case.
